Guest Review: dinner was the best meal we have in the UK in two weeks
Guest Review: I loved the village, the architecture, truly stunning! Also the woods in the grounds, they are a part of Portmeirion. And it's like part Temperate forest, and part subtropical gardens, absolutely breath-taking in beauty! Full of all sorts of imported trees and Botanicals, amazing huge ferns and Rhododendrons, many many different species. The whole place is so well maintained, so clean! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment I stayed in was comfortable and warm. I noticed a number of bird species in abundance around the village and woods that have disappeared elsewhere, so Portmeirion has an important ecological impact for them. I stayed for two nights and I really didn't want to leave here. It would have been longer if i could afford it! I would definitely return as soon as I can. The only limiting factor for me is the cost. This is an expensive place to stay, certainly. But it was actually worth it as I had an amazing experience here, and there isn't really anything I could fault, the service and maintenance/cleanliness was flawless, so that does justify the expense. I will be back as soon as I can afford to stay again!
Guest Review: Location to the castle was perfect. We felt like we were within the castle walls and living part of history. The restaurant was fantastic English Pub food for dinner and the staff were friendly and helpful. What a great surprise in an out of way location as part of our trip to Wales.
Guest Review: Self catering, but cafe on site with good food. Also bar with food available in the evening.
Guest Review: Lodge had everything we needed and was a good base ,owners had told us about issues with heating but had supplied alternative heating
